This specimen among the Andean Paramo ecoregion - in the Cajas National Park, whose elevation ranges between between ≈ 10,200-14,750 ft. (3,100-4,500 m), in the Andean Paramo eco-zone, whose vegetation consists o f high altitude grasses, evergreen shrubs and some scattered dwarf forests - Azuay province.
