Birds - Iceland
Around 370 species of birds are recorded in Iceland, of which about 85 nest upon this volcanic island. And almost all the nesting birds are floor breeders, due to minimal trees throughout the country. Seabirds are the most prevelent type of birds in Iceland, and they nest in vast numbers along the steep and rocky coastal cliffs. Most of the bird species found throughout the country are migrants, typically beginning to arriving around April and leaving the island come September. Througout this feathered file are 35 species, during the June-July months throughout all 8 regions of Iceland.

Barnacle Geese - foraging upon the grass stems in late July - beyond are fragments of glacial ice (bergy bits) in the Atlantic Ocean, which during tidal flows are carried from the Jökulsárlón (lake/lagoon) - Eastern region of Iceland.
