Moche Priest tomb - based on the collection of artifacts, the buried man has been identified as a Priest (Sacerdote) - the man who according to iconographic depictions, would have collected blood from sacrificial victims, both human and animal - in his sarcophagus he was holding a copper cup in his hand, and was wearing a necklace adorned with small golden pendants shaped into eerie human facial expressions). The Priest was second only in social status to the Moche Lord himself. This royal funerary tomb was discovered in 1988, near the Lord of Sipan tomb, and its contents was also dated around 250 AD. Inside the Priest's tomb was discovered other people (which included 2 women, one facing up the other down - a male guard/sentry (with his feet chopped off, but in a coffin).
