1. Historic Centre of Santa Ana de los Ríos de Cuenca - a remarkable planned inland Spanish town, founded in 1577 that bears witness to the interest given to the principles of Renaissance urban planning in the Americas. Included also in the city, is the Pumapungo ruins (Canari/Inca cultures).

2. Galapagos Islands - an archipelago of 13 major volcanic rock islands (7 smaller), located about 600 mi. (965 km) off the western coast of Ecuador, and spans a distance of about 270 mi. (435 km). About
97% of the land was declared a National Park in 1959 (Ecuador's oldest) - the islands are surrounded by the Galapagos Marine Reserve (1998), which protects the inland waters of the archipelago, in addition to all those contained within 40 nautical miles, measured from the outermost coastal islands.

3. City of Quito (the capital of Ecuador, founded in 1534 on the ruins of an Inca city and stands at an altitude of 9,350 ft. (2,850 m), the highest official capital city on Earth. Quito has the best-preserved, least altered historic center in Latin America, displaying magnificent cathedrals, monasteries, churches, a colonial center, cobblestone streets and quaint squares.
