Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba (established 2000) - 1 of 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Argentina (as of 2012) - consisting of the Jesuit Block in the city of Córdoba (17th and 18th century) contains the core buildings of the capital of the former Jesuit Province of Paraguay and the supporting estancias which concentrated on agriculture, textile production, and mule breeding in addition to their spiritual functions. This image of the Estancia Alta Gracia - located about 22 mi. (36 km) from the Jesuit Block in the city of Cordoba, in the Santa Maria (department). This estancia was originally comprised of a church, the priest residence, quarters for the slaves and workers, cattle pens, vegetable gardens, textile mill, blacksmith shop, and a water reservoir - Córdorba province, which borders the most provinces (7) of all 23 throughout Argentina.
